The scientific activity of Lucia Maddalena deals with the development of methods, algorithms, and mathematical software for computer graphics and image processing in advanced computational environments. In particular, the activity is/was devoted to: – Analysis, development, and testing of parallel computing algorithms, methods, and techniques and their application to computer graphics; – Analysis, design, and development of methods, algorithms, and software for image processing and multimedia systems, and their integration in advanced computational environments, of common interest for diverse application fields, including digital video restoration, event detection, content-based image retrieval, and biomedical imaging.
