His research focuses on several Data Science areas, including machine learning, anomaly detection and explanation, process mining, data analytics methods for geosciences and remote sensing, data mining techniques for cybersecurity and fraud detection. He has co-authored over 80 articles published in international conference proceedings, chapters, and journals. He also served as a reviewer for several conferences (IJCAI, ICDM, SDM, and PKDD) and journals (Knowledge-Based Systems, Expert Systems With Applications, Machine Learning, and Future Generation Computer Systems) of international relevance. He has been involved in different research projects (and served as scientific advisor for some of them): H2020 project CyberSec4Europe, PRIN 2022 iSafety, PNRR SERICS (SECCO), Italian Cyber Security District, DIVA- Data mining for IVA, FRAME (a Framework for handling complex information systems), OpenKnowTech, Discovery Farm (developing of a KDD platform), Spidasec (POR) and IDesk (POR).
